I have been seeing so many people say “Good Riddance” To 2015, and I have to share their same sentiment. I have loss so much this year. My experiences of life in just 2015 alone could fill a novel. However, while time was winding up, I was thinking to myself, I need to write something for this year. I need to close this chapter. So I decided to focus on the positive, the silver linings that life gives us. Voila! It hit me! TOP FIVE! So here goes my top five of 2015:
5. It’s National Day:
I host my own curated YouTube show entitled It’s National Day! This year, Ive worked with some pretty amazing brands! Reliant kicked off this year with #NationalCutYourEnergyCostDay. I love being the creative director and visionary for such an amazing show. On December 4th I celebrated my one year anniversary (#ItsNational1) of the show with my close family and friends. We were able to donate some items to those less fortunate and it really put a much needed smile on my face. Its has been a roller coaster, but I have been blessed to film out of the country and just basically do what I love. I cant describe the feeling of giving birth to super cool ideas and watching them grow. Watch the latest Episode and Subscribe:
4. #TeamStyleMag
I celebrated 2 years with Houston’s Number 1 Weekly Urban Magazine: Houston Style Magazine! I totally enjoy what I do as a corespondent for the news paper. I live in my element when interview celebrities, cover non-profit events, and write about stories that matter. This year my favorite interview was of Emmy-Nominated Writer & Actor Anthony Anderson:
3. TotallyRandie!
TotallyRandie.com has been growing! More readers and a guest blogger has added edge to the lifestyle blog that covers food, travel, fashion, beauty, entertainment and more. As a Media Personality I have been growing. I have been extremely busy from hosting the Social Media Lounge for Big Brands like Ashley Stewart, to covering private tastings, being on TMZ & signing on with the new Houston Chapter of CelebsGiveback.org. I had so much fun and Im looking to keep the rapport and do more of the same thing in 2016.
2. Travel
Everyone who knows me knows I enjoy traveling. I have wanderlust, its no secret. I have been blessed to travel out of the country and domestically this year. I count it as a blessing because some didn’t have the chance to leave the state this year. I had the wonderful opportunity to visit New York, Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and Puerto Rico this year. Travel resets me, it puts be in a happy place; and to travel with the ones I love just makes me beyond grateful.
1. Love
Love comes in so many forms. It’s a scientific fact that love, food, and drugs gives of the same chemicals in the brain when experienced. Then you go into the 4 types of love and well you just get into a complicated conversation on how this one cardinal attribute could possible make your 2015. Well for me I experienced it on many different levels. I deeply love my great-nephew “Peanut”. Everyone who follows TotallyRandie have possibly seen him grow up on my social media. An aunts love is so magical and special. He holds a special place in my heart. He gives me the strength to keep going when I want to stop at times. All I have to do is see his smile and my heart melts.
However he is not the only love I have experienced. The Eros love I experienced in 2015 (he knows who he is) can’t be put into words by me so ill get some help from a trusted lyricist/amazing musician.
“I thought I’d never love again
I thought my life was over and
I didn’t want to face
Or even see another daySuddenly from nowhere, baby you appeared
You dried my tears, you cared for me
Baby, your love for me, truly rescued me
It’s because for you, I was able to
Fall in love again, you give me someone….To Love” -Jon B
I hope you guys Enjoyed my Top 5! What was yours?
Goodbye 2015 Hello 2016
