“Your Dynasty ain’t complete without a chief like me!” words said by Beyoncé in her song Upgrade You. Well there is another Dynasty on the rise in Bey’s hometown of Houston, Texas; Dynasty XXIILIX. Owned by artist and free-spirit Manuela Gomez, Dynasty was born after the loss of her father to cancer. Gomez (aka MarilynMonrolex) decided to go after her dream of fashion by joining forces with two of her long time friends who shared her same love for fashion. One of those friends being her “King”, visionary director, and local musical artist, Youth Soul Love.

On May 1st “La Jefa” Gomez released The Queen Collection for women who want to wear their crown daily at the Montrose Proper Art Gallery. The Queen Collection (for right now) showcases crop tops with cute graphics, the word Queen, and a graphic face. The details on the back of the tops are gold studs for royalty. “I feel lie a Boss in this shirt, like I can be anything I want to be!” – said one of the Models.
Last Year Dynasty hosted their first fashion show entitled One Fashion Show to benefit the American Cancer Association. Together with local designers and artist, the donated over $400 dollars. “To be apart of a group of people who share your artistic vision, and to be able to donate to a great cause; that’s my idea of success” -said partnering local designer Samo Dinero. This year the team is gearing up for Two Fashion Show with a model casting call taking place May 17th.
